Program brochures

Our nonprofit often needs new pdf handouts for different programs and audiences, like child welfare workers or families receiving services. Below are a couple brochures I created through collaboration with subject matter experts at our organization.

I used our brand kit in Canva to design the material and worked with staff to write the content. The icons are from Canva, and the images are from Shutterstock. I used Adobe Photoshop to incorporate brand colors for the father/daughter image in the second file.

Employee Appreciation Month

March is Employee Appreciation Month, and I worked with Choices leadership to create a video to support the campaign. It was one of many small tokens we planned to show gratitude toward staff.

I made the video by collaborating with the leadership team and then using Canva for Nonprofits and Adobe Premiere Pro for final editing. The bright colors are part of our Choices color palette.

Website

In 2021, the agency that supported the Choices website via Craft CMS told us that we would need an additional $10,000 for the next year’s contract. Given that we are a small nonprofit organization, we simply could not afford this jump in expenses for little additional benefit.

I reached out to a number of other local digital agencies and even freelancers, but all of the quotes ranged well beyond our minimal budget. Since I had experience with WordPress.com and our IT Director had experience with WordPress.org, we worked together to save $10,000+ by migrating the website ourselves from Craft CMS to WordPress. With the help of an intern, we met the deadline of recreating the entire website by December 31, 2021.

I learned a lot through the experience, learning new skills with Yoast SEO, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, WordPress, and more. At the same time, I took the opportunity to update messaging to better reflect the organization’s programs. Recovery from Substance Use

The Choices Emergency Response Team (CERT) responds 24/7 to individuals and families struggling with substance use.

I designed the content for this ad campaign, which had the goal of increasing enrollment for CERT in Richmond, IN. Long before the campaign, I created the web page for CERT.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI)

I am thankful to work for an organization that aligns with my personal values such as inclusion and racial equity.

Here are examples of DEI content I planned and published. They resulted from collaboration with employees who represent diverse communities.

Family Reunification

June is a national celebration of families who safely reunite after being involved with child welfare.

I designed a graphic banner, interviewed experts, and put together monthly newsletters for a coalition that hosted various events.
